DESCRIPTION:The “Festival International d’Orgue de Roquevaire” (International Organ Festival in Roquevaire) takes place every year in September and October\, since 1997. This very friendly event allows organ-music lovers and the general public to discover the Grand Organ of Roquevaire. \nBrilliant improviser\, Pierre Cochereau was the prestigious was the holder of the Great Organs of Notre-Dame de Paris until his sudden death in 1984\, at the age of 59. All over the world each of his performances attracted hundreds even thousands of music lovers astounded by his exceptional creativity.\nThe new instrument of the Roquevaire Saint-Vincent Church was reconstructed\, in 1997\, integrating Pierre Cochereau’s personal 5 keyboards organ. \nThis organ became the soul of an International Festival. The full programme can be seen here. \nAnthony Hammond will be playing Calvière-Frescobaldi-Franck-Bouvard-Vierne-Widor-Cochereau-Improvisations.
